Lecture Series: VO Take Over. Intersectional Interventions
The initial and lasting moulding of early career researchers takes place primarily in the introductory lectures of the first semesters. In addition to the generally traditional content of these courses, the responsible professors take on the role of models. There is still a lack of diversity among professors and thus a lack of tangible role models for an increasingly diverse student body. The ‘glass ceiling’ discussed in university equality reports and the drop-out of young academics affects marginalised people all the more.
Professors from the Faculty of History and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna are voluntarily dedicating one date of their introductory lecture series to young experts. These sessions aim to introduce canon-critical and intersectional perspectives to their respective historiographies.
Dates of the lecture series for the 2025 will be announced soon, on the homepage of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies.
