In cooperation with Austrian Transition to Open Access Two / Subproject "Predatory Publishing, University of Vienna invites you to an exchange about the changing landscape of scholarly communication and its effects on the everyday work practices of researchers.

During key lectures, practice-orientated workshops and follow-up rounds of discussions, we want to engage with the following questions:

  • What does quality mean in the scientific publication system and how can quality be ensured, for instance through Peer Review?
  • Why are Mass Open Access Publisher, such as MDPI, Hindawi or Frontiers, currently the cause for such controversial discussions?
  • How is the landscape of the scientific publication landscape currently changing?
  • How should we deal with predatory publishing and other predatory phenomena?
