Call for Contributions - Conference on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research for sustainable development. Conference dates: 24-25 November 2022 in Louvain-la-Neuve. Target group: Researchers and early career researchers (e.g. doctoral and post-doctral researchers) at Circle U. universities, working on thematic areas related to sustainable development.

On 24 and 25 November 2022, the second edition of the “Conference on Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Development" will be held in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

This annual conference was introduced as part of UCLouvain's “Transition Plan” that aims at “stimulating and supporting the emergence of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in the field of sustainable development ». Nearly 150 researchers participated in the first edition where more than 50 contributions were accepted and presented in 16 parallel sessions. For the second edition, the conference intends to be international and will be open to researchers from the European University Alliance Circle U. In this context, scientific contributions are invited from all fields of research, both in science and technology, biomedical sciences, and social  sciences and humanities.

This call for papers is targeted at researchers from UCLouvain and Circle U. partner universities, especially early career researchers (e.g. doctoral and post-doctoral researchers) and targets all thematic areas related to sustainable development.  The detailed call for contributions is available in the attached document.

We invite contributions (in English or French) from both

  • Researchers already involved in inter / trans-disciplinary research, who present the results of their research
  • Researchers who are not yet involved in inter / trans-disciplinary research but who are preparing a research project or protocol, who present the key concepts and the methodology envisioned for their future research project

Contributions must be sent in the form of a pdf document to the address coordinateur-louvain4@uclouvain.be by 1 October 2022 at the latest, following the instructions specified in the attached document. The expected format for the submission of proposals is an extended abstract of 500 words maximum.
