Symposium in Honour of Christoph Eisenegger – 19.07.2022

06.04.2022

We are proud to announce a symposium in honour of Christoph Eisenegger, titled “The neurobiological basis of human social behavior” on July 19th 2022, at the University of Vienna.

The aim of the symposium is to commemorate the late Christoph Eisenegger, and the achievements he has accomplished together with his international collaborators and early career researchers at the Neuropsychopharmacology & Biopsychology Unit (NBU). Chris had established the NBU in 2014 at the University of Vienna with the goal to investigate the neurobiological mechanisms underlying dynamic social interactions using behavioral paradigms, psychopharmacology, imaging methods and computational modelling. The symposium will showcase the fruition of his work, in talks held by the early career researchers of the NBU, and his national and international collaborators. The thematic focus will thus be on the role of testosterone, of dopaminergic drugs, and the amygdala in social decision making.

The symposium will be held prior to this year’s ESCAN conference, which will take place in Vienna from Tuesday evening, July 19th, until Friday, July 22nd.

We are very happy to welcome you to Vienna, and commemorate Chris’ scientific and personal legacy with us. Please also circulate this email widely to anyone that might be interested.

Please save the date.

More information, including the preliminary program and how to register (participation will be free of charge), can be found on the symposium's webpage (https://nbu2022.univie.ac.at).
